You won’t change the world by saving an animal.
But you will change that animals
world by adopting.
Adoption is a life long commitment. Please think through this before applying to adopt.
Have a Heart. Adopt a Rescue Animal. Don’t Shop.
Have a Heart Animal Rescue and Adoption a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization. We are headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. As a small local animal rescue group, we function solely on donations and volunteer foster homes. We post our animals on a virtual kennel and set up appointments with foster homes to meet the animals. We do not have a facility. We are primarily a cat and kitten rescue, but do have a few dogs from time to time in our rescue (they are typically critical care situations). We rescue from small rural shelters in Alabama.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting any animals please e-mail [email protected] |
Have a Heart is not a shelter.
We are a virtual (kennel) rescue adoption site for posting our rescued animals that live in foster homes. WE HAVE LIMITED foster homes,
WHICH FILL UP FAST. When our foster homes are full, we can only help by courtesy posting on our Facebook page to attempt help find homes for them. We do not guarantee anything when we courtesy post. Our policy is to pull from shelters. We do not take owner surrenders or stray animals. You must be 21 to adopt an animal from Have a Heart. If looking for an animal to adopt and we do not have what you are looking for, please message us. We have a network of friends with other local rescue groups that we work with and they may have the perfect pet for you. Have a Heart Animal Rescue NEEDS FOSTER HOMES!!! If you are interested in fostering any animals please message us on facebook (for a faster response) or e-mail [email protected]. |

A RESCUER's CREED
Author: Susan M. Pearson
I shall be a believer of all that is good in man and of all that is deserving in animals.
I shall plead for their lives, campaign for their safety and uphold their right to a natural death.
I shall seek out the injured and the maimed, the unloved, and the abandoned and tend to them in their last days.
I shall not forget their place in the hierarchy of life, nor that we walk in each other's paths.
I shall bear witness to the wonder they bring into our lives and to the beauty they bestow upon our souls.
I shall renew their spirits when they are waning, bind their wounds when they bleed,
cradle them when they whimper, and comfort them when they mourn.
I shall be near them in their hour of greatest need - a companion and friend when the time has come.
I shall watch over them and console them and ask that the angels gather them in their arms.
From the creatures of the earth I shall learn the fruits of compassion and undying love,
and I shall be called the beloved of God. In their company I shall indeed be blessed.
